Congratulations Dylan! My First Graduate! USMA '22

Updated: May 30, 2022

I hope you don't mind my 'bragging,' but my first student graduated from the U.S. Military Academy today. Dylan is now a full-fledged Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. I am very proud to have played a small part in his journey.

Like other students, Dylan had a dream, and we turned it into a plan. I was his coach, and he worked with me diligently and enthusiastically. Preparing for the Candidate Fitness Assessment, taking multiple SAT exam, prepping for interviews, outlining nomination essays for each of his nomination sources, and the list goes on. Dylan executed well on everything.

He was selected for both the USMA Summer Leadership Experience and the USNA Summer Seminar. His attendance at both helped inform his decision. And Dylan entered West Point in the summer of 2018.

Dylan was one of my two senior high school students that year. My other student won an AFROTC scholarship to Georgia Tech, and ultimately, he reapplied to USAFA the following year, and he is now a rising senior at Air Force.

Last year, my 'academy admissions coaching' practice had the best results yet. Nine of my eleven students achieved six academy appointments, one Prep School invitation and two AF ROTC scholarships. Two appointees also won additional ROTC scholarships -- a great year!

It is tough to earn an appointment to any of the U.S. service academies. And it is even tougher to complete the four-year program. Congratulations Dylan! You did it!

What's more, Dylan, you provided a strong foundation for my practice some five years ago when you put your trust in me to provide guidance, counsel and coaching around the Academy application process. I am grateful!

Congratulations of all members of the Class of 2022 at USMA, USAFA, USNA, USMMA and USCGA!
