Congratulations Class of 2017! This article provides some nice details to share.
This group worked, studied and excelled in a one-of-a-kind program intended to produce first-rate leaders for the United States Air Force.
I'm partial to the AFA since I graduated 35 years ago on June 2, 1982. (I know, a long time ago!)
But more interesting is the ceremony featured a number of graduates with whom I graduated or got to know when I was a cadet.
Superintendent Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson (Class of ’81) presided over the event. My classmate, Heather Wilson (Class of '82) and the new Secretary of the Air Force, spoke at the ceremony. Many other AF officers, who serve in a multitude of roles, were also present. Many of them are also graduates of the AF Academy or other college-based programs through the Reserve Office Training Corp (ROTC). The long blue line is proud of this legacy. And more will follow.
If you desire to join this group, start preparing now. Set a goal for your academics, lean into community service and find a sport to play. With all of it, have fun and work at excelling in each area.
